When a week-out crisis turned into our biggest job ever
The Call We'll Never Forget
One week before their wedding, Monty and Dylan faced every couple’s worst nightmare — their glamping provider stopped responding.
With 80 guests expecting on-site accommodation, they were staring at the possibility of an empty paddock.
Monty called us in a panic.
“If they don’t show… can you?”
We said yes.
48 Hours to Build a Village
With just 48 hours’ notice, we loaded a 4.2m truck, packed 36 tents and 41 beds into our trailer, and left the Sunshine Coast at 4:30am for the 450km drive to their farm venue near Glen Innes.
36 Tents. One Incredible Team Effort.
With no casual staff available at short notice, the couple rallied an incredible crew of volunteers.
After a quick briefing and demonstration, everyone got to work.
By 7:30pm, all 36 tents were standing.
By midday the next day, 41 beds were styled and ready.
Guests arrived at 2pm.
Then it rained on the wedding day
Every guest had a warm and dry tent.
We Don't Just Drop and Go
As the rain eased, we began planning the pack-down.
Wet canvas doesn’t get rushed. Protecting equipment properly matters.
We stayed the weekend.
By 4:00pm Sunday, the styling and bedding was packed and loaded, and 30 tents were down.
Monday morning, we returned for the final six tents
450km journey home — arriving at 6:30pm.
Tuesday: unload. Job done.
